Our Beliefs
We Believe that ...
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, living, eternally reliable Word of God without error in its original manuscript, absolutely infallible, and our source of revelation from God, superior to conscience and reason, though not contrary to reason; and it is therefore our infallible rule of faith and practice and necessary to our daily lives II Timothy 3:16-17; I Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12.
God
We believe in one eternal, invisible God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father and Creator, through his Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit dwelling within us Matt 28:19.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin; that He lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for our sins, and bodily rose from the grave; and that He has been exalted to the throne of God where He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe that through His death and life we have personal salvation and power for victorious living John 1:1-2 & 14; I Tim. 3:16; Acts 7:37-38.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues. The Holy Spirit lives inside all followers of Jesus from the moment they begin to follow Him. The Spirit gives followers of Jesus the strength to live lives that please God I Cor. 12:4-11, Gal 5:22-23.
Salvation
We believe that God created the universe and created man in His own image; that all men have sinned and that they are dead in sin, and We deserve death and are separated from God, but by his grace through His Son Jesus we are forgiven and have eternal life Ephesians 2:8-9. Because all men have sinned and need redemption, faith in the shed blood of Christ gives the believer life everlasting. Those repenting of sin and being born again of water and spirit become children of God and heirs with Christ Acts 2:38.
Baptism
Baptism is the immersion of a believer into water. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. It is a picture of the believer's death to sin, the burial of His life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus John 1:29-34; Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:3-4.
